About me
I studied Fine Art at the Slade School where I was awarded First Class Honours. I was also given both The Henriques and Boise scholarships. Since then I have travelled fairly widely and exhibited my work in several open shows, although more recently I have tried to concentrate on solo exhibitions. I have sold my work through exhibitions and private commission. I live and work in Catford, South East London.
My work
I find it difficult to speak about my work; I would rather hope that it speaks for itself. I fear that it is impossible to describe any creative process. My work has been discussed by others and described in turn as ‘having a quiet resonance’ ‘rugged and individualistic’ and ‘good, with integrity’. All I can say is that what I look at is the source of information, there is always more there than I might expect and that I then try to paint it as succinctly and as truthfully as I can manage.
Commissions
There is a cross section of work shown here. Some pieces have already been bought at exhibition, some are private commissions; some are for sale. Portraits can be commissioned and sometimes it is exciting to consider ideas for possible still life or landscape commissions.
